Because of its nature, the trade in lambs is a seasonal activity, which is mainly limited to spring time. From Hungary we deliver lambs of the Merino sheep, a high quality breed with an excellent flavour. The stronghold of the deliveries goes to Italy, where lamb meat is very popular, especially around Easter.
Apart from Hungarian lambs, HUNLAND increasingly buys animals in Slovakia and Romania. In the whole region, sheep are still kept in a very traditional way. Therefore, most of our lambs come from flocks, which graze under the supervision of a shepherd.
